Sadly, our beloved, Lea Yoder, 58, passed away on January 3rd, 2026, after suffering a traumatic brain injury.
Lea was born on May 1st, 1967, to Isla and Morris Thompson in Rhodesia, now known as Zimbabwe. Lea grew up in Zimbabwe and South Africa, and after graduating from high school, she moved to Illinois to begin her undergraduate degree and pursue a career as a Chiropractor. She then moved to Colorado to start her own Chiropractic business and spent her life working to help others. In 2001, she married David Yoder and went on to have two daughters, Samantha in 2003 and Danielle in 2006. Lea was predeceased by her Mother, Isla, in 2006. She is survived by her husband, David; daughters, Samantha and Danielle; father, Morris; Niece, Heloise, and sister, Claire. Lea also leaves behind a brokenhearted, supportive group of relatives, along with countless friends and patients. All of whom knew and loved her dearly.
Lea was a big personality in a small package. As she liked to tell her two daughters, diamonds come in small packages, and she truly was a diamond herself. She made an impact on every person she interacted with.
She was kind, loving, courageous, and full of adventure. She enjoyed traveling and the outdoors the most. Her greatest joys and accomplishments were the love of her husband and the gift of being a Mom. Along with her business and career, she built as a chiropractor. She dedicated her time to helping others, and even when she parted from us, she continued to do so by donating her organs, as it was part of her life legacy to help and serve those around her. Lea was loved by all and will continue to be loved.
There will be a celebration of life held in Lea’s honor. We will provide more information when we have a date and location set.
During this time, instead of sending flowers and food, we kindly ask that you consider donating to one of the organizations below in Lea’s honor.
